40 x 40 Update: Five Down!

Today I finished reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.  The winner the Newbery Medal in 2009 was book 5 on my 40 x 40 Book Challenge.

The Graveyard Book

This was my first foray into Mr. Gaiman's work.  I am definitely a fan now.

Next up, A Frolic of His Own by William Gaddis.

By William Gaddis: A Frolic of His Own

This book received the National Book Award for Fiction in 1994.  A glance at the reviews and blurbs about the book give me the impression that this is a rather high-brow and daunting piece.  I look forward to the challenge.

Has anyone read this already?  Any thoughts you'd like to share with me?

  1. Haven't read The Graveyard Book. I've read several other Neil Gaiman books and loved them. Neverwhere is my favorite so far.

  2. I saw the film adaptations of Stardust and Coraline and enjoyed them both. Once my 40x40 challenge is over, I'll be able to indulge in the rest of his work.

  3. I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book, too. I listened to it on audio and Neil Gaiman was the narrator. He has such a captivating voice.

  4. Hi Melissa! Thanks for dropping by. I think it's rather cool that he narrated his own audiobook.
